Blij verrast met jullie reacties, bedankt! Die van Jitze ga ik zeker uitproberen, maar dat die zogenaamde polyfill bij een voor de woofer te kleine kast (als bij de heresy) dus een positief effect op de basweergave heeft is bij jullie niet bekend?
Voor alle duidelijkheid zal ik even de letterlijke tekst van de Amerikaanse tweaker weergeven:
"What I did do was fill the cabinets with polyfill. This is the filling used for making pillows; it is easily found in arts & crafts stores. You can use other material for stuffing the boxes, but from the research I did, it appears that polyfill has the best sound absorbing characteristics for the mid-bass frequencies that the woofer operates at.
The filling is used to essentially make the woofer think it's in a box with a bigger volume. The rule of thumb is to use about 1 pound of material per cubic foot of internal volume. I used about two pounds of material per box for the Heresy. The resulting bass is somewhat deeper than the unstuffed box - This even works with the stock woofer, so you can give it a try before committing to buying the Layne Audio woofers."
