In The Absolute Sound las ik een rave-review van de Meridian 808.2.

Ze claimen een revolutionair digitaal filter te hebben, die

problemen in de OPNAME, dus in het A/D-proces zou oplossen.

Daarnaast is het zgn. pre-ringing opgelost.

 

The Absolute Sound was er zeer enthousiast over!

 

Bob Stuart heeft een AES-paper over zijn zogeheten apodising filter gepubliceerd.

Ploegde Meridian met dezelfde stier als Hypex, MM-Audio, Grimm e.a.?

De actieve luidsprekers van Meridian (met Bruno's UcD / Hypex modules en DSP) lijken technisch gezien wel heel veel op Bruno's eigen ontwerp...

Recipe for perfect PCM:

 

Specify all interpolation/decimation filters as halfband, 0.4fs to 0.6fs transition.

Put exactly one non-halfband lowpass filter in the chain (e.g. at replay or before final dithering) that enters stopband at 0.4fs. Specifying its passband at 20kHz will allow for a very smooth roll-off and hence very short and practically ringing-free impulse response. (...)
