Henrie Posted 11 juni 2007 Report Share Posted 11 juni 2007 De nieuwe Dream Theater staat op de 3 voor 12 luisterpaal.. Jakkie, tis echt niet mijn ding. Emotieloze technische perfectie? next! Tja, het is bij Dream Theater meestal dat je het geweldig vindt, of het haat. Jij hoort kennelijk bij de 2e groep Ik ken de nieuwe cd ook wel (een beetje) en hij is wel aardig. Ik vind 'm nog niet echt geweldig, in vergelijking met Scenes From A Memory en Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence, maar zeker niet slecht. Misschien moet je die 2 ('Scenes' en 'Degrees') eens proberen, Niels? Na 'Degrees' vind ik de albums wat minder. Trail Of Thought kon ik nog wel waarderen, omdat het zo heel anders was dan wat ze eerder hadden gemaakt (namelijk knetterhard), maar Octavarium vind ik echt minder. Op het titelnummer na dan, die is wel geweldig (Pink Floyd-achtig). De nieuwe cd, Systematic Chaos, ligt volgens mij in het verlengde van Octavarium. Maar het blijven geweldige muziekanten... Een kwaliteitsalbum afleveren dan, en dan heb ik het over de productie en persing van de LP. Niet bij Solution, wat een prachtige LP, toevallig van een ex-collega gekregen, maar wat een juweeltje. As the festival began with pouring rain, so it ended with the heavens opening throughout the rock veterans' hour and a half performance. Launching into 'Relay', guitarist Pete Townshend made reference to his internet vision back in 1971, the year he wrote the track. Joking with the crowd he said: "You look at these old potjandriedubbeltjesers here onstage talking about the internet in 1971 and that was the year I wrote this song." The rock veterans went on to thrill the crowd with a stunning performance of classic hits including 'My Generation', 'Won't Get Fooled Again', 'You Better You Bet' and 'Pinball Wizard', which saw the band roll through a huge medley. Of their performance Townshend told the crowd: "We waited a long time to come here. We are so pleased to be here. Thanks for sticking with us." As The Who drew the three day bash to a close, Townshend strapped on an acoustic guitar and Daltry was seen swigging from a mug for the final track 'Tea And Theatre'. The singer added: "It maybe muddy, it maybe wet but you have been fantastic. Thank you Glastonbury."
